We Give Thanks for a Successful Fundraising Year!

All of us on the Board of the Hypersomnia Foundation would like to thank every one of our supporters for making our 2017 fundraising efforts such a success. The HF finished the last two months of the year strong, first by participating in Facebook’s Giving Tuesday on November 28. On that day, more than 40 of our supporters (including a number of first-time donors) created fundraisers on their respective Facebook pages, raising awareness of idiopathic hypersomnia and asking their friends and family members to support HF. (In addition, the Hypersomnia Foundation has been notified that we will receive some of the matching funds offered by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to nonprofits who participated in the Giving Tuesday/Facebook campaign.)

Then, longtime supporters Bertha and Tony Rye offered to match all donations made to HF in the month of December, up to $10,000. Once again, our supporters came through for us, allowing us to win the entire matching challenge.

These last two months of the year capped off a very successful 2017 for the HF – total contributions for the year increased over 30% from 2016 contributions, showing that more and more people are becoming aware of idiopathic hypersomnia and the difficulties facing people who suffer from this chronic neurological sleep disorder.

We are filled with gratitude for our donors! Without you, the Hypersomnia Foundation could not fulfill its mission to improve the lives of those living with IH and related disorders. WE THANK YOU and look forward to a busy year in 2018!
