Register to Attend the 2015 HFRC

Let’s kindle the flame! Register to attend the conference today.

Socrates once said, “Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” Sitting in school as a young person, you may remember feeling as if your teachers were the vessels of all knowledge and your job, above all else, was to be a receptacle to hold and keep all the information poured into you. Now that we are adults, we know that this is not what education really is. In fact, many school districts across the country are in the process of redefining what learning is and what it looks like in the classroom. This is because we now appreciate what Socrates meant all those years ago. Education is not about memorizing and storing facts. The internet has made this idea obsolete. Education is really about kindling the flame of curiosity, lighting a spark of interest and enthusiasm, and encouraging creativity and collaboration. When these things exist in education, the result is the ability to think critically, question the status quo, and solve problems, and the outcome is inspiration and innovation.

Imagine what could happen if people had the opportunity to think critically about current hypersomnia diagnostic methods. Envision the power of people from all around the globe gathering in one place to collaborate on their experiences with hypersomnia. It may sound like a dream, but the 2015 Hypersomnia Foundation Conference is a reality. We have provided the place and time specifically designed to kindle the flame of understanding hypersomnia and ultimately work toward cures of these debilitating conditions.
